Transgourmet Holding AG is taking over Emmi Frisch-Service AG (EFSA). The acquisition will make it possible to offer customers a wider range of products and to exploit synergies in national logistics. All employees will be taken over. The transaction is still subject to approval by the competition authorities.
Emmi Frisch-Service AG is a national trading company. It supplies around 4,000 companies in the food service, hospital and care home, convenience store and wholesaler segments.
A merger of the activities of EFSA with the existing supply business of Transgourmet is planned in the course of this year. Customers will thus be able to access the full range of fresh produce, food and beverages of Transgourmet. The Schlieren site, which is central to EFSA, and the Burra brand will retain their key importance in future too. All employees will be taken over. The companies will continue to operate completely independently until the competition authorities give their approval.
Philipp Dautzenberg, CEO of Transgourmet Switzerland Ltd, comments as follows on the takeover of EFSA: “We and the management and staff of EFSA are pleased that we can increase our competency in sales and logistics, and that we can offer customers access to the full Transgourmet range in future.”
