The Max Havelaar Foundation awards its quality label to products manufactured and traded in line with Fairtrade standards. More than 950 products in our Food and Non-Food range have been awarded the Max Havelaar Fairtrade quality label.
The Max Havelaar Foundation is a non-profit organization. In Switzerland, it awards the Fairtrade quality label to sustainably farmed, fair-trade products from developing and emerging countries. The democratic organization of producers is also a key issue. Fair, sustainable trade relations are important to us. We have been working with the Max Havelaar Foundation since 1992 and we are now the largest provider of Fairtrade Max Havelaar products in Switzerland.
Principles of fair trade
The quality label promises the following added value for farmers and the environment:
Self-determination and assumption of responsibility thanks to co-determination in democratically organized cooperatives and workers’ committees
Higher and steadier incomes thanks to a stable minimum price
Regulated working conditions and health protection measures
Rewards for investments in improving production and development projects
Long-term trade relations and local support
Sustainable farming and respect for the environment
