Apple pie

This is needed

Pastry dough
- 1 pastry dough, rolled into a circle
Apple filling
- 5 apples, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp Maizena cornflour
- 2 tbsp ground hazelnuts
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 0.25 tsp cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp bourbon vanilla powder
Pie
- 1 pastry dough, rolled into a circle
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
- 1 tbsp sugar

And that's how it's done
Pastry dough
Place the dough in the prepared tin with the baking paper. Prick the base with a fork.
Apple filling
Mix the apples with all the ingredients up to and including the vanilla, spoon onto the pastry dough.
Pie
Cut the dough into strips of varying widths. Plait a few strips into braids. Place the strips and braids on top of the pie in any pattern you like, press down well and brush with egg yolk.
Bake
For approx. 35 mins. in the bottom half of an oven preheated to 200°C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly and serve while still warm.
