Halve the pastry crosswise, cut into 6 equal rectangles. Score approx. 1.5 cm strips at the side edges, leaving a strip approx. 3 cm wide in the middle. Spread cream cheese over the middle strip, place the strawberries on top so that they overlap slightly. Fold the lower pastry edge inwards, then fold the side strips inwards over the strawberries (left and right alternately), finally fold the upper edge inwards. Brush the strudel with egg.
Approx. 15 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 220°C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, then dust with icing sugar.
