Mix the flour, salt and yeast in a bowl.
Cut the onions into thin rings. Peel the carrots, grate the carrots and courgette using a rösti grater. Drain the tomatoes well, chop finely. Add the vegetables, water and oil to the flour, mix, knead into a soft, smooth dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 2 hrs.
Divide the dough into 8 portions, shape into rolls (approx. 40 cm long). Brush with a little water. Wrap one strip of dough loosely around each stick.
Grill the bread twists over/on a medium heat (approx. 200 °C for approx. 15 mins. on all sides, allow to cool slightly.
