Pour the wine and cranberry juice into a pan along with all the other ingredients up to and including the nutmeg, bring to just below the boil, stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat, cover and leave to infuse for approx. 10 mins., heat up again, strain and set aside the cranberries.
Pour the mulled wine into mugs. Garnish the mulled wine with orange slices and the reserved cranberries.
