The peels of the bitter oranges are first removed from the white inner skin, mixed according to a secret family recipe, and macerated in alcohol (flavouring substances are converted into alcohol). It is then filtered and sugar syrup is added. After several cooling and maturation phases, Cointreau is bottled in a distinctive square bottle with 40% alcohol content. 40% Vol. 0.70L.
A crystal clear spirit, with a refined flavour of sweet or bitter oranges. Cointreau is an ideal base for many famous cocktails (like the White Lady and Margarita). It can also be enjoyed on its own, on the rocks or with Schweppes. When added to hot chocolate,a tasty treat is obtained when the weather turns cold. Can also be used in baking or to refine ice cream and fruit desserts.
