'Whisky 43% vol'
This Glenfarclas unfolds a sweet, mild taste that is uniquely its own. If it is finally served, hold the autumn sun of Valley of the green pasture in your hands, transformed into liquid gold.
The Glenfarclas distillery lies nestled in the lovely hills at the foot of the majestic Ben Rinnes mountain. Translated into English, the name means valley of the green grass. High above the distillery, a crystal clear cold water source rises from the heart of the Ben Rinnes. This source is fed by slowly melting snow filtering down through granite, heath and peat. The water, shaped by the landscape created millions of years ago by the first glacial movements, is of unusual purity. This makes it an important part of Glenfarclas Highland single malt, giving it its unique character. But it is still the copper stills that makes the whisky great. Because the art of crafting a really good whisky, which gradually becomes a truly great one, starts in the distillery. A good distillation makes it possible to catch the lightest and best facets of alcohol. Glenfarclas' single malt is not continuously distilled, but rather made in batches with care and special attention. Thorough quality controls guarantee that each batch is consistently excellent. Finally, the distillate is filled into the best Spanish sherry casks. The whisky matures undisturbed for at least 10 years in dark, cool cellars. In the course of this maturation process, the whisky changes character and takes on its wonderful colour.
