Pure Grenache from 95-year-old vines in Cristia. Open aromas of ripe dark berries, cassis, black cherries, blueberries. Tannin and beautifully integrated wood on the palate, a little coffee and vanilla, long finish with harmonious, juicy acidity.
This wine estate, established 70 years ago by Etienne Grangeon, originally spanned two hectares of grenache and was further developed by his son Alain, who came on board in 1963. A passionate wine-grower, he expanded the vineyard by planting improver varieties such as Syrah and Mourvèdre, thus creating the Cristia identity based on the knowledge and respect of the soil. When Baptiste and Dominique joined their father in 1999, they focused on selecting the ideal plots in order to produce premium-quality wines with good ageing potential for the French and international markets. The wine estate now covers an area of 60 hectares, producing AOC Châteauneuf du Pape, Côtes du Rhône/Villages and Vin de Pays, which have been certified organic since 2008.
