Useful information

The Bordeaux Subscription – the classic among subscriptions
Each year, in April, thousands of buyers, wine critics, caterers and interested individuals flock to Bordeaux to taste the new vintage en primeur (barrel samples). The official primeur week is an opportunity for the world of wine to form an impression of the quality of the vintage. Tastings are held at the vintners and châteaux. Each wine can be tasted several times.
How do we choose our Bordeaux subscription wines?
In April, our wine experts travel to Bordeaux for a week to taste the latest vintage and make a preselection. At this point, the wines have not even been assessed by the famous wine critics.
Following a blind tasting in a neutral environment, the best wines are included in our selection. After the tasting, the châteaux and the vintners announce their wine prices and offer the wines for sale.
So that you can get an idea of the quality of each wine, our wine experts write a report on the general quality of the vintage, including winemaker profiles and their own tasting notes.
The benefits of our Bordeaux subscription

  • Direct delivery after bottling
  • Safe shopping with our Coop satisfaction guarantee
The subscription wines from Bordeaux are assessed by the world’s best-known wine critics, such as Robert Parker, Neal Martin and Vinum. High ratings awarded by Robert Parker denote modern, full and dense Bordeaux. Neal Martin ratings with high points scores denote traditional wines with a high tannin content. On the Vinum wine-scoring scale, 20 points denote phenomenal wines from a great vintage that are perfectly in harmony and now at their best.
