Deep, dense ruby colour, a nose with intense aromas of cassis, woody vanilla notes, caramel, black elderberry, cinnamon and plum, complex, a frank attack on the palate, powerful with intense aromas of ripe fruit, round and rich extracts, delicate tannins; a wine with character.
Napa Valley is the most famous American vineyard. This is not due to quantity because, Napa Valley produces only 4% of all California wines. The grapes benefit from optimal conditions. The vines are grown in a small Napa River valley with diverse volcanic soil. The hills that surround this valley reach up to 800 meters, offering excellent viticulture conditions. Testing with other grape varietals like sangiovese, have produced equally successful results.
