The Château Belgrave is a known wine-growing domain in Bordeaux. Given the rank of Cinquième Grand Cru during the 1855 ranking, it covers 60 hectares on a parcelle of land with only one tenant. The soil is a thick layer of gravel over a base layer of clay. 49% ofthe area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, with 3% Petit Verdot that was added with the new plantings. The harvest is manual and the grapes are sorted on a conveyor belt before fermentation conducted in stainless steel vats and, most recently, wood barrels. The wine is aged in barrels for 12 to 16 months.
