Dark red colour. An intense and complex black fruit nose, linking blackberries and cassis to notes of violet. Ample, full-bodied and dense on the palate, rich with elegant tannins, almost sweet, fruity and balanced with lovely structure. A long, fruity finish.
This domaine is located in Pauillac and of only medium size with its 43 hectares. 46% of the area is planted with cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot, 12% cabernet franc, 2% petit verdot and 1% carmenere. The average age of the vines is forty years and the vines are planted at nearly 8,500 per hectare. The domaine produces about 170,000 bottles in an average year. Note the vintages produced from 1995, with scores above 86 points, all lie in the upper range of Parker's rating. The fermentation is carried out for 15 to 22 days in stainless steel tanks. The red wine is then transfered to barrels, where it rests for 16 to 18 months. 30% of the barrels are renewed each year.
