Dark intense cherry colour, a fruity bouquet with concentrated black berries and licorice aromas, spicy notes with a hint of tobacco, a rich character on the palate, perceptibly woody, a very robust wine, noticeable tannins, moderately juicy, complex berry flavours on the palate, medium concentration with a long finish. A wine to be decanted!
Cahors is located south of Bordeaux. Cahors' black wine has had an AOC status since 1971. The main grape is Malbec, which was just as dominant in Bordeaux, in the past. Its performance is limited to 50 hectoliters per hactare.
