Rich ruby with a crimson hue. Intense nose. Small, black berries, a hint of blackcurrant, Mon Chéri, seductive toasty notes. Dense and multi-layered. Full, rich and clearly structured on the palate. Lots of black fruit then kicks in again, with precious wood, coffee and dark chocolate. Densely woven tannins and a juicy acidity give the wine a lot of power and length. Lingeringly aromatic and very harmonious finish.
Starting with the 2011 vintage, the grapes for the Marchese Antinori Chianti classico docg Riserva come exclusively from the renowned Tenuta Tignanello vines. The popular classic is therefore the second growth of this famous estate. After harvesting, fermentation and careful pressing of the grapes, the young wine is aged in barriques for 14 months. This is followed by another twelve months of bottle ageing.
