Deep ruby colour, a ripe berry bouquet that evolves into light plum aromas, cinnamon and a touch of violet, a fleshy, elegant attack on the palate, a powerful structure with moderately soft tannins; a harmonious wine with good length.
The La Madonnina vineyard was purchased by Fratelli Triacca in 1969. But the first grape harvest didn't happen until 1975. All restoration work was completed in 1979. Since the acquisition of adjacent land in 1987 and 1990, the area now covers a surface of 400 hectares of olive groves, forests, fields and meadows. The vineyards occupy 100 hectares planted with mainly Sangiovese (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) and Merlot (2%). - The more mature grapes from La Madonnina are kept in oak barrels for 2 years to become a typicalRiserva.
