Dense cherry red colour, flirting with black, a richly varied bouquet with elderflower aromas, delicately spiced, powerful and fleshy on the palate, muscular body, a pronounced taste of berries with a soft fruity sweetness and good length. Very good value-for-money.
Reached the baptismal font in 2001 following the reunification of the Gries and St-Magdalena cellars, two traditional cellars in the city of Bozen. The Bozen cellar is one of the youngest South Tyrolean cooperatives. The Lagrein grape variety is grown throughout South Tyrol, it owes its name to its origins in the Val Lagarina in Trentino. Cited in the seventeenth century records held in the Benedictine monastery of Muri near Bozen. A selection from the Baron Carl Eyrl domain in Gries-Bozen. Matured for 12 months in large wooden barrels.
