Dense ruby colour with purple reflections, a nose that opens onto a flourish of black cherries and fruit marinated in rum, with hints of leather and juniper berries in the background, complex notes of oak, vanilla and coconut, a melt-in-your-mouth concentrated fruitiness, ripe tannins, a long, well structured finish.
The large Frescobaldi family domain has a long tradition of wine making. Founded over 700 years ago, it is now in the hands of the 30th generation, led by Marchese Leonardo and his brothers Vittorio and Fernando. Nine vineyards covering a total of 850 hectares belong to this empire. All are located in Tuscany, in different DOC zones. Luce and Lucente are grown on the 150 hectare Castel Giocondo vineyard in Montalcino (Sangiovese and Merlot). A joint venture with Robert Mondavi.
