Dense ruby colour, a dark, seductive nose dominated by woody aromas, a concentrated dark berry character, palatable on the attack, very delicate with great elegance, medium round and full, slightly dry at the finish with a touch of spiciness.
DOCG (also Sagrantino di Montefalco) for red wine produced in Umbria. A DOCG classification was issued in 1992. The area encompasses the entire commune of Montefalco (there is also a DOC appellation for red and white wines) as well as parts of the communes of Bevagna, Castel Ritaldi, Giano dell'Umbria and Gualdo Cattaneo, in the province of Perugia. The Secco is a wine made from 100% Sagrantino grapes, which gives it its name. It must have an alcohol content of 13% vol. and mature for at least 30 months.
