Dense dark purple colour, a fine, delicate bouquet, richly varied, accompanied by notes of blackberries and cherries with a hint ofmint and toasted, nuances of eucalyptus, a very fine wine, very ample on the palate, fleshy, reminiscent of dark chocolate, an expanded texture and beautiful elegance, very concentrated with perfect tannins.
Produced from very old vines; the Cabernet Sauvignon are some 25 years of age and the Merlot vines are even older, at 40 years old. Gérard Bertrand is the chameleon of wine growers in southern France. His Cigalus, is one of the best wines in the region. With histhree domains; L'Hospitalet, the Villemajou and Laville Bertrou, he's at the forefront of the appellations.
