Purple with violet hues, delicate, discreet berry aromas, complex, woody and spicy aromas, a well structured body which gives the wine a nice look and a pleasant structure, a concentration of berries with slightly bitter tannins at the finish.
Corbières, is a large wine region between Narbonne and Perpignan. Laurent Max, a Burgundian winemaker, is one of the pioneers ofthe region. In 1999 he bought the Château Pech-Latt, not far from Lagrasse. A domain of 350 hectares in a state of change, where Lagrasse monks planted the first vines 1250 years ago. Today, 90 hectares belong to the Château Pech-Latt of which 15 hectares have been added in recent years. Syrah and Grenache are grown. Many of the vines have reached biblical age: 65 years for Carignan's vieilles vignes and 45 years for the Grenache. The previous owners had already benefited from the vineyard's special microclimate and converted to organic viticulture in 1991. Laurent Max, the new owner can be proud that the Château Pech-Latt is also a great pioneer in Corbières in this regard.
