Intense purple colour, beautiful aromas of black berries and ripe cherries, needs to be aired, delicate woody aromas, fruity on thepalate, well balanced, great finesse and roundness, classic, well structured with very present tannins. Needs to age a bit.
Claire Laval bought this little domain of 1.15 hectares (with 70 year old vines, on average) in 1996. The grapes that produce this wine are from biodynamic viticulture, grown in a place called Plince, where the soil is very sandy and hot, which causes the grapes to ripen faster. The 2001 vintage is rich and opulent, with a complex nose delivering aromas of plums, fruit and licorice, a good attack on the palate and a nice fruitiness that is typical of the region.
