Wine details

Corbières is a very important wine region between Narbonne and Perpignan. Laurent Max, a Burgundian winemaker, is among the pioneers of this region. He bought the Château Pech-Latt in 1999, not far from Lagrasse. A domain of 350 hectares in flux, where the Lagrasse monks planted the first vineyards 1,250 years ago. Today, 90 hectares belong to the Chateau Pech-Latt of which 15 hectares have been added in recent years. Syrah and Grenache grapes are grown on the land. Many of the vines have already reached biblical age: 65 years for those called the old vines from Carignan, and 45 years for the Grenache. Already the previous owners had used the vineyard's special microclimate to convert it to organic wine growing in 1991. Laurent Max, the new owner can be proud that the Château Pech-Latt is part of the great Corbières pioneers.
