Deep garnet red with purple reflections, a spicy taste with hints of licorice, cedar, leather and smoke, but also fruit such as blackberries and black cherries, ample and fruity with subtle notes of vanilla, one of the great wines of the region. To decant!
Terrain: the Corbières, a region of wild and barren hills, extends south of the Aude between Narbonne and Carcassonne. Bordered to the east by the Mediterranean and to the south by the high mountains. Over 30,000 square kilometers, 15,000 hectares of vines are planted. In different types of soil quality, from alluvial lands at the edge of the Mediterranean coast to clayey, calcareous soil in the hills that rise as high as 500 meters in altitude. The climate is determined by the Mediterranean warmth, but also by the Atlantic breeze from the west. Primarily red grape varietals are grown: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. The grapes are all hand-picked. The wine matures for 10 months in French oak barrels.
