Dark, mature red garnet colour, a spicy nose, mature Tempranillo bouquet with a powerful berry concentration, with mature aromas, reminiscent of rum compote, decidedly spicy and with a sweet American oak barrel note, full-bodied on the palate and smooth, good fruity sweetness, elegant and harmonious, fine aromas on the palate characterized by concentrated dried-fruit aromas, soft tannins at the finish. A good classic Rioja in a superior class.
Matured for 12 months in american and french oak barrels. Cune (Compania Vinicola del Norte de Espana) is one of the oldest and largest producers of Rioja. Originally, the area was founded by French vintners, today it belongs to the Vallejo family. Numerous storage halls filled with small, old wooden barrels stacked to the ceiling, the impressive old wine cellar and its tens of thousands of decade old bottles are proof of a glorious past. Today, Cune counts on innovation and has, with its ultramodern equipment to receive and vinify its grapes, a wine cellar where tradition and technology work together in perfect harmony.
