Concentrated ruby red. Notes of fresh blackberries, blackcurrants and marinated cherries in the nose with a touch of tobacco and leather. Powerful tannin on the palate with abundant fruit extract, delicate acidity and a harmonious body.
When Catalan couple Mario Rotllant and Carmen Daurella came to Rioja at the end of the 1980s, they realized that there was still potential in the vineyards of this region – potential for wines that would be not only better, but the best. Born in the notorious railway station district of Haro, Bodegas Roda gave a new dimension to the word quality from its very beginnings. Mario Rotllant bought a total of 21 parcels of land with a total vineyard area of over 150 hectares for Bodegas Roda, in the best locations of Rioja Alta and Alavesa. Starting in the vineyard, everything is geared towards quality. The vines are between 30 and 90 years old, and the grapes at Bodegas Roda are harvested exclusively by hand.
