Translucent deep ruby colour, very pronounced black fruit aromas, cherry, elderberry, cassis and roses, decorated with sweet vanilla and caramel notes with ripe tannins. An elegant, medium-bodied, dense, soft, complex and harmonious wine, focused on intensity. A classy wine.
The Feudo Principi di Butera vineyard extends over 250 hectares in the heart of Sicily. Once the property of the princes of Butera and Lanza di Scalea, it also includes the Feudo Deliella vineyard, located at 300 meters above sea level, just a few kilometersfrom the sea. Zonin primarily exhibits the cultivation of vines in a line, with some 4,000 - 5,000 plants per hectare, as well as the traditional Alberello shrub method. The climate and limestone soil in the region are ideally suited to cultivation of Nero d'Avola, Inzolia, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes. Also called Calabrese, the Nero d'Avola is one of the best Sicilian red grape varieties. It lends itself very well to barrel ageing, it being a single-varietal wine.
