Deep purple-red colour, intense aromas of cassis and blackberry, deep and complex, with delicious notes of cask and chocolate, multiple attack and pleasant, smooth body, average power, well balanced, a bit of a robust finish. Very good value for money.
Considered among the best wines of southern Italy. On the eastern slopes of Monte Vulture and from the arid hills south-east to Venosa and Genzano. The best grapes come from Rionero and Barile's volcanic soil. The Vecchio is matured for 3 years, 2 of which are spent in casks and the Riserva is matured for 5 years.
