Cherry red colour, almost black, a delicate, generous bouquet, richly varied with aromas of ripe blackberries, smoky nuances, very fruity on the attack, nicely assembled and full of character, rich in extracts, still a little young, beautiful structure marked by delicate grilled nuances and evident tannins. A wine that merits a bit of ageing.
A wine from the Baglio Soria vineyard and the Firriato wine cellars from the Province of Paceco - at an elevation of between 100 and 180 meters in soil of volcanic origin. The wine is aged for 8 months in French and American oak barrels. In Sicily, the natural elements of wind and sun blend perfectly with the balanced Mediterranean climate that prevails. Casa Vinicola Firriato was built in 1985. Its two owners - two young entrepreneurs - are also the producers: Salvatore and Vinzia di Gaetano. In 1994, Salvatore and Vinzia di Gaetano met with Australian winemakers that made them discover the benefits of technology from the other side of the world, where the climatic conditions greatly ressemble the Sicilian climate. They exchanged their mutual experiences in the company of oenologist Guiseppe Pellegrino. The Firriato vineyard now covers 300 hectares, of which 200 are premier quality vines.
