The family business was founded in 1944 by Charles Favre and his sons. His son Jean-Pierre has been running the business since 1975. They process grapes from 80 hectares of vines, mostly produced by longtime suppliers. The Hurlevent speciality range's emblems arethe Dole, Pinot Noir and Gamay. Red AOC wine from the Valais is made strictly from Pinot Noir or a blend of red grapes, whose grapesmust reach at least 83° Oechsle. A blend must be composed of at least 85% Pinot Noir and Gamay, with a majority of Pinot Noir.
