Wine details

Most of the Alsace vineyards are located in the hills that preceed the Vosges. Soil quality is very diverse. It is in granite or slate soil that Riesling, which occupies about a quarter of the wine-producing region, gives the best of itself. Since 1574, from generation to generation, the Dopff family of winemakers practice their livelihood with fervor and enthusiasm, in soil no less noble than in Alsace, more precisely, around Riquewihr. With over 70 hectares of vineyards, Dopff's Moulin is the largest winery at the heartof the Grands Crus region. It lies at the edge of the village of Riquewihr, on the small Schoenenbourg mounds, facing south, one ofthe finest Riesling terrains.
