The Lavaux wine region is known for its distinguished Chasselas. The vines are planted on steep terraces overlooking Lake Geneva. The vineyard area is 29.6 hectares. 3/4 are planted with white grapes, mostly Chasselas, and 1/4 with red grapes, mainly Pinot Noir and Gamay. The most prominent areas are the Clos des Abbeys, the Clos des Moines, l'Arbalète and the Medinette.
