The Lavaux wine region is known for its distinguished Chasselas. The vines are planted on steep terraces overlooking Lake Geneva. The vineyard area is 29.6 hectares. 3/4 are planted with white grapes, mostly Chasselas, and 1/4 with red grapes, mainly Pinot Noir and Gamay. The Louis Bovard family from Cully have been cultivating the vineyards on the shores of Lake Geneva for centuries. Property in Lavaux: 16 hectares and 1 hectare in Aigle.
