Light yellow, multi-layered aromas with citrus notes and slightly minerally echoes, dry on the palate with pleasant fruit, very quaffable and interesting, juicy, medium-bodied, elegant, fresh thanks to good acidity, a long finish. A top Räuschling at a fair price.
Räuschling is a speciality from Lake Zurich. The heirloom variety was out of favour for a long time but has more recently been enjoying a real renaissance. This is due in part to the Schwarzenbach Winery in Meilen, one of the most traditional, biggest and best companies in the canton of Zurich. A large number of grape varieties are grown on an area covering nine hectares. The main ones are Pinot Noir, Riesling Silvaner and the white speciality Räuschling. The company is represented in the prestigious Mémoire des Vins Suisses organization with its vintage wine Räuschling Seehalden, which ages very well.
