Arneis is a very old white grape, with low acidity, it was already known in the 15th century as Renesium and Ornesio. Grown in Italy, only in Piedmont, where it is also called White Barolo. It is used to produce the DOC Roero Arneis wine in the province of Cuneo and the DOC Langhe Arneis wine from the province of Alba. It is also found on a small scale in Argentina. In the past, the armeis was used to cut the Nebbiolo.
