This accomplished estate wine perfectly embodies Katrin Wind's style: a subtle, clean bouquet, consistently dry on the palate, nice fruit, fresh, elegant, moderate alcohol content, straightforward, hint of minerals, unassuming, good finish. Drink within the next four to five years, as an aperitif or an accompaniment to light fish dishes.
2018 was an outstanding year in the Palatinate and many other German wine regions. To guarantee quality, Katrin Wind pruned a lot of grapes. The harvest began early, at the start of September, and ended midway through the month. The young producer from Germany takes an organic approach to her vineyards. Interference in the vinification process is kept to a minimum. The dry Pinot Blanc comes from various locations and is mostly aged in a steel tank on full yeast. 15% of the volume is transferred to oak barrels.
