Weinviertel DAC Grüner Veltliner Black Edition Weingut Ebner-Ebenauer

Aged in French oak barrels, this wine underwent bâtonnage (stirring of the lees) – a method that Ebner-Ebenauer also use for their exquisite Burgundian-varietal white wines. The Weinviertel estate bottle their wines unfiltered. They need plenty of air, so decanting is an absolute must. Ebner-Ebenauer’s GV Black Edition 2016 is complex and multi-layered on the nose, with fruity notes, fine hints of liquorice, and the smoky spiciness commonly associated with Grüner Veltliner. Dry on the palate, with just under 3 g/l of residual sweetness as well as ripe, well-integrated acidity (6.5 g/l). Powerful and tightly woven, but showing elegance and finesse throughout. Full of depth with a very long finish. The perfectly integrated oak makes for a balanced wine that has a great ageing potential of 10 years and more. Pairs with curry dishes, rich stews containing meat or poultry, and even game.

Der Pinot noir Edition Peter Keller 2020 des Weinguts Lindetröpfli aus dem Zürcher Weinland stammt aus einem sehr guten Jahr. Seine Eigenschaften sprechen für sich. Im Glas zeigt sich der Wein mit einem sortentypischen, intensiven Rubinrot. Die offene Nase enthüllt schöne Noten von roten Beeren und würzigen Röstnoten. Die präsenten Gerbstoffe sind gut im mittelschweren Körper integriert. Eine gute Säure gibt dem filigranen Wein die notwendige Frische und Eleganz. Er endet mit einer guten Länge. Der Pinot noir besitzt ein gutes Reifepotenzial von gegen zehn Jahren und ist ein perfekter Begleiter zu einem Kalbsfilet mit Morchelsauce oder Geflügelgerichten. Die Trauben für dieses Gewächs stammen aus der priviligierten Lage Hofstatt oberhalb des Dorfes Uhwiesen. Die im Durchschnitt 40-jährigen Reben wachsen auf sandigen Lehmböden. Die Spezialabfüllung für die Edition Peter Keller ist während 13 Monaten im Barrique ausgebaut worden. Abgefüllt wurden 600 Flaschen.

Vacqueyras Rouge Sous la Robe Edition Peter Keller Domaine Vallis Petra

The organically produced Vacqueyras Sous la Robe 2017 convinces with its unbeatable price/enjoyment ratio. On the nose, the red wine made from the typical local varieties Grenache (50%), Syrah and Mourvèdre (25% each) reveals a fine bouquet of red berry fruits as well as spicy herbal notes. The palate presents itself with a powerful, well-structured body. The tannins are ripe and well integrated. Thanks to its freshness and finesse, this cuvée has a very nice drinking flow. All three varieties are fermented together in concrete tanks and then aged for a year in small wooden barrels of 225 litres. The vines, which are on average 60 years old, grow on limestone gravel and pebble soils. The yields are modest at 25 hectolitres per hectare.
