Originally a cooperative, it was soon transformed into a Società Agricola. Today, Azienda Agricola Mirabella owns 50 hectares of vineyards and produces some 450,000 bottles annually. It produces various types of sparkling wine: brut, rosé, satèn, vintage sparkling wine and a reserva. The business focuses on the typical local varieties Chardonnay, Pinot bianco and Pinot nero. As with champagne, the second fermentation takes place in bottles. The sparkling wines from Franciacorta are a perfect alternative to the often overpriced brand-name champagnes. And the superb products from Mirabella are no exception to this rule.
