Marchesi Antinori

Marchesi Antinori is an old Tuscan winegrowing dynasty that began producing wine in Florence in 1385.
The wine portfolio includes Tignanello, Solaia and Chianti Classico Riserva Marchesi Antinori.
The winery has been family-owned for 26 generations, since the era of the Medicis. Today, Marchese Piero Antinori manages the company with his daughters Albiera, Alegra and Alessia. The business has long since expanded beyond Tuscany: Antinori owns the Tormaresco winery in Apulia, Prunotto in Piedmont and Cervaro della Sala in Umbria. In spite of its size, Antinori is still considered to be one of the most important high-quality producers in Italy, playing a major role in the renaissance of Chianti and the success of the Super Tuscans (international-style Tuscan wines).
The core of the production is in Tuscany, in keeping with tradition: a wide range of wines are produced here in the Chianti area, especially Tignanello, one of the first Super Tuscans, Solaia and Chianti Classico Riserva Marchesi Antinori. Maremma wines are produced in Bolgheri and near Castiglion della Pescaia, Vino Nobile at La Braccesca in Montepulciano and Brunello at Pian delle Vigne in Montalcino.
The historic heart of the company is the impressive Palazzo Antinori in Florence, while large parts of the production process were recently housed together in a newly built 26,000 m² winery in the south of Florence. The building is also considered to be an architectural masterpiece and is integrated perfectly into the landscape.
