100 years of scintillating conviviality: the legendary Fendant Les Murettes invites you to discover its story.
Maison Gilliard was established in 1885 by Edmond Gilliard. He acquired the vineyards Clos du Mont and Clos du Brûle-Fer high above the town of Sion. Thanks to its founder, Maison Gilliard is one of the oldest wineries in Valais and one of the best-known wine producers in Switzerland. Fendant Les Murettes became part of the Maison Gilliard history in 1921. A tradition-steeped name that piques the tastebuds and invites you to enjoy it in cheerful company. Since 1921, Fendant Les Murettes has been inviting connoisseurs to enjoy the true taste of Valais in a convivial setting.
This fresh and slightly sparkling Fendant was originally created for the cantonal marksmen's festival in Bex in July 1922 and quickly became a benchmark for this typical Valais grape variety.
Fendant Les Murettes comes from the steep, sun-drenched terraced vineyards above Sion. This unique terroir offers ideal conditions for the grapes to develop their subtle yet characteristic taste.
For Maison Gilliard, 2021 will be the year of the Murettes: What better opportunity to jointly celebrate the history of this legendary wine, which is characterized by expertise, quality and, above all, passion.
