They graduated as oenologists from the Bordeaux technical school in the same year, and they have owned Château Fleur La Mothe in Saint Yzans du Médoc since 2008. The fifteen hectares in a prime location on a high plateau are planted with 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. In the vineyards the owners focus on natural cultivation, emphasizing their respect for nature – and the greater amount of manual labour involved compared to conventionally cultivated vineyards. The purchase of Fleur la Mothe fulfilled a dream for all three of them. Their ambition is to take the winery to the top of the quality rankings in the Médoc, and they will: the wine is getting better with every vintage. It has already reached the level of many Crus Classés.
