The Domaine Guyon has been run by Michel and Jean-Pierre Guyon since 1991. The nine-hectare vineyard (60% Côte de Nuits, 40% Côte de Beaune) has been cultivated biodynamically for many years. The wines are matured in pièces for twelve to fifteen months, then bottled without filtering or fining. The result is extract-rich aromatic wines, highly complex and concentrated, with intense, polished tannins – and not a hint of excessive processing in the cellar. All the wines share a voluminous, rich, warm style, very mellow, with a long, velvety finish. Their density does not detract in the least from their outstanding balance and finesse. Not for nothing are Guyon's wines thought to be among the best on the Côte de Nuits.
