Jaillance

Creation of the Cave Coopérative de Die in 1950.
With over a thousand employees, the Cave de Die Jaillance is now the Drôme department's third-largest company in the food sector.
On the initiative of Henri Bonnet, 266 winemakers in the region around the town of Die decided to join forces to form the "Coopérative de Die", thus giving the development of their production a boost. The name Jaillance chosen for this serves a dual purpose: it gives the public more clarity, resolving confusion due to the phonetic similarity between "Clairdie" and "Clairette de Die", and it allows the cooperative to put its stamp on a variety of sparkling wines with controlled designations of origin. With over a thousand employees, the Cave de Die Jaillance is now the Drôme department's third-largest company in the food sector. The region has 1,400 hectares of Clairette de Die and Crémant de Die AOC, more than 1,128 of them cultivated by the 224 members of the Cave de Die Jaillance cooperative.
